Alberta “Bert” Wade

Alberta “Bert” Wade

WESTAMPTON — Alberta Wade, who was known to most as “Bert,” passed
away quietly on Sunday Aug. 20, 2017. Bert loved to care for others.
She worked for more than 30 years as a labor and delivery nurse at
Rancocas Hospital where she helped to bring — as she called them —
little miracles into the world. Even after retiring Bert continued to
volunteer with Samaritan Hospice and at The Tender Adult Daycare
Center in Moorestown.

Outside of her work, her number one priority was always family. She
loved to bring everyone together with Tuesday night dinners and
Christmas family reunions. As a Catholic Alberta lived her faith: she
was a daily communicant and was active in the Altar and Rosary Society
for many years. She also found a little time to travel. Alberta and
her husband saw the world: Rome, the Panama Canal, Ireland, Hawaii,
Alaska.

Alberta married her high school sweetheart from Shenandoah
Pennsylvania. Alberta and John were blessed with 63 years of marriage
and twins John (Kathy) Wade and Catherine Phelps; and beloved
grandchildren Sara Phelps (Scott Ketterer), John (Ericka) Wade and the
late Daniel Wade. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Robert and
Albert Walukonis and her sister-in-law Sara Walukonis.

Come celebrate 85 great years Monday 8-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral
Home, Beverly. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m.
at Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph Church, Beverly.
Interment at Monument Cemetery. Donations to the hospice of the
giver’s choice will be appreciated.
