An Irish Patriarch and born leader; Patrick was always in charge. He took his time when making his decisions, but once “I have decided” came from his lips, the course was set. Working in the shipping industry for 40 years found him traveling the world outfitting ships for everyone from the Disney Cruise Lines to the United States Navy. As a leader Pat invested in people, even taking the time to pick up their local accents. In Louisiana, you’d have sworn he was born in the bayou. After years of the traveling, retirement found him content at home reading and then yelling at the TV during Eagles, Phillies and Notre Dame games. Of course, once the neighbors found out Pat was a master craftsman, it was a natural fit for him to “manage” the volunteer painting brigade in his home development. As an Irish Patriarch he never strayed far from his roots and enjoyed the occasional sip of Irish Whiskey.

In 8th grade Bernice Regler commented that her best friend’s boyfriend, Joe Murray, was cute. Turns out Joe had a twin named Pat. They soon dated and danced on American Bandstand. After graduation from West Catholic High School, their marriage was blessed by 5 children: Mary Lou Gere (Gerald), Kathleen Gere, Patrick Jr, Michael (Karen) and John (Kelly). He was completely devoted to his family and dedicated to watching the successes of his 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Henry Jr, and John.
