An exceptional woman, an exceptional life…Shirley left this world, surrounded by her loved ones, on May 23, 2014.
For Shirley, there was nothing more dear than family, but to her family, she was the treasure. As a mother, she held her children’s hand while they were young, but held their hearts forever. Both selfless and gentle, she always put their needs before hers and rarely had to raise her voice to get a point across. They remained the center of her universe, that is, until she was blessed with grandchildren. She had the uncanny knack of making each grandchild feel as if they were the most special and most loved…simply because they were. If you needed to confide in someone, Shirley was always there. She wasn’t just trustworthy, she was the world’s best secret keeper. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Sometimes this was from her gentle nature, sometimes from her caring way, but many times it was from her contagious laugh and quick wit, which she had until the end.
Shirley is survived by her husband Francis “Hughie” Fray of Willingboro. Together, their 58 years of marriage were blessed by their children: Gregory, of Willingboro, Lisa Price (Scott), of Shamong, Carole Ehrgott (Eric) of Burlington and the late Linda (Steve Wszelaki), and again by their grandchildren: Jennifer Rossi, Mark Fray, Zachary Fray, Scott Price, Jr. and Andrew Liebner and their great-granddaughter, Zata Fray. She is also the sister of Arlene Gaynor and the late Dorothy Lyons-Baranoski.
Come celebrate Shirley’s 83 exceptional years on Tuesday from 9 AM at Corpus Christi Church 63 Sylvan Ln., Willingboro, where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment in Lakeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Eves Dr. Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053. –
