William Janus

Through being a Scout Master of Troop 25 and substitute teaching at Delran High School, Bill inspired a generation of kids. Some said it was that he was so impartial to everyone that made him so popular. But, in reality, he was partial to EVERY kid. Through life’s trials and tribulations, he maintained a calm demeanor: Bill relied on his faith. If the Lord thought it should be, that was enough for Bill. Some mothers yell at their kids, “Just wait till Dad gets home.” Bill’s kids waited anxiously for his arrival; Dad always got them out of trouble. He accepted people as he found them: no need for anyone to be perfect, Bill hardly paid attention to anyone else’s flaws. Somehow, he even found a way to watch the Eagles quietly, though he might ask his family to watch their language a little when some passes were dropped. But Sundays were mostly for breakfast and church, bringing his flock back to his home. Most people don’t like the tax collector; but everyone loved Bill. You couldn’t pick a much fairer auditor at the I.R.S. Anxious to serve our nation in Korea, Bill joined the Air Force when the Army line was too long. He went to LaSalle on the G.I. bill and later received his Masters from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science. Retirement found him embarking on a new endeavor: Bill was a babysitter for the ages.
He got to know a pretty young lady named Patricia Klebes at a wedding of mutual friends. Their marriage was blessed by 6 children: Bill (Jean), Trish (Tim) Sharpley, the late Stephen, Mary, Michael (Reakha) and Liz (Eric) Woodington; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is survived by his brothers, Joseph, John (Ann) and Tom (Mariann).
